That’s all there is until our first day of shooting. It’s almost here.
I’m trying to avoid curling up in the fetal position.
The good news: all the big stuff (well, nearly all the big stuff) is done. Now it’s mostly small stuff. There is a ginormous pile of small stuff to do, but it’ll get done. I may not sleep much, but it’ll get done.
The bad news: 3 weeks. It’s not a lot of time. It’s enough, but not a lot. There are still questions about makeup, wardrobe, the shooting schedule, etc. I’m confident it’ll all get done.
Persistence has paid off in that several locations I’ve been hoping I could secure but was totally unsure I *would* secure have come through. That’s going to make this production better – I like the authenticity of shooting real locations when I can.
I’m simultaneously excited and terrified about the eight days of shooting (July 6 – July 13). Being on set is a lot of fun, but there’s so much to do when you’re the writer, director, and producer. It’s basically nonstop decisions, but I’ve brought an amazing crew onboard, so that gives me a lot more confidence than I’d have if they weren’t around.
That’s it for now. I don’t know if there’ll be another update or not before shooting starts. If not, there will certainly be no updates until after shooting ends. Wish me – all of us – luck!
