My shooting dates are locked down, as I mentioned previously; and things are moving forward smoothly (for the most part). I’ve been fortunate enough to get some true pros on board for shooting and sound. That’s a big piece of the filming pie.
Locations are proving more challenging, and there have been times I’ve been frustrated by not getting certain locations. But in a way, it forces me to be more creative with locations, and has resulted in some script changes I’m really happy with.
So much of filmmaking is adjusting on the fly, and improvising. I’m finding that a useful skill right now.
There’s still a ton to be done, but I’m plowing through the pile. I’m not anxious, but July will be here before I know it. I’m afraid I’ll wake up in mid-June and realize I’ve got three weeks before shooting. In fact, I’m fairly certain I’ll have nightmares to that effect.
At the same time, I’m getting more and more excited. I can’t wait to tell these stories, and I’m hopeful that they’ll find their audience.
