The dates are locked in for filming Episodes 1 & 2 of “The Body.” It was a bit of hit-and-miss, as schedules were difficult to align for an 8-day shooting block. But we’ll be starting on July 6, 2025, and going through July 13.
I’m happy to be going straight through instead of shooting over a series of weekends. It’ll make things much better for continuity, and the cast and crew will feel much less fragmented. The actors will be better able to stay in character, which is crucial for a character-based show like this.
It certainly means more pressure to make each day (i.e., to shoot everything necessary to ensure we don’t run over), but I tend to do well in those situations. It probably has a lot to do with my journalism background — I’m used to working on deadline.
I’m also creating detailed storyboards that should make each scene more efficient to shoot. This is a key factor for me. Showing up on set each day, I won’t be trying to figure out where to put the camera and actors.
Of course, things change when you’re on set, and new ideas crop up – but we’ll have the framework from which to work every day.
There is still a *ton* to do in the meantime – an incredible amount, in fact. I’ll be talking more about that soon.
