My short film “The Body: Breaking Point” has won its first award: “Most Poignant Feature Film” at the Christian Film Festival for June 2026.
It’s actually not a feature film: it’s a short film, but at roughly 52 minutes, it’s too long to fit in normal “short film” categories, but too short for a traditional feature film. That’s because it’s essentially the first two episodes of a series, stitched together.
In any event, it’s good to get some recognition for the film. If you want to watch it, click this link for the YouTube version.
Film festivals like this don’t usually lead to any distribution deals. Even for the huge festivals, like Sundance and Telluride, an award doesn’t guarantee a distribution deal anymore, like it used to. What I hope it does do is provide some much-deserved praise for the talented cast and crew who worked on it, and maybe some help with future funding pitches.
The Facebook link to the festival page is at this link. In the meantime, I’m working on the script for a new short film that I’m very excited about. More to come on that.
